Our
thoughts are with our friends and families in
the areas affected by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma
and Maria. I belong to a Facebook Group
based in the British Virgin Islands and among
the current photos of damage and recovery
efforts they are posting photos from the past of
how things used to be. Some of these
photos are decades old. The comments about
them leave no doubt that just looking at them
lifts their spirits and inspires recovery.
Still others are posting current photos of
sunsets and other examples of the beauty that is
still there which gives them comfort.
Remember
to document your life, especially the things
that make you smile.

will be meeting at Black Hammock to take an
airboat ride on Lake Jessup. Usually by
this time of year the yellow sunflowers are in
bloom and we can get some unique shots from the
water. While we can't guarantee there will
be yellow flowers we can guarantee there will be
many other opportunities to use your
cameras.
Cost
per person is $50.00 for a one hour
ride.

Vallie Piloian will demonstrate several
smart phone apps for editing photographs. This
will include the basics of Facebook, Instagram,
Snapseed, ColorPop, PicsArt, and BeFunky. We
will also cover several
photography hacks and tricks that
you may find intriguing enough to try for
yourself. Be
sure to bring your smart phone with you. If
time allows, we will step out into the park with
our phones to see how creative we can get to
share at the next photo
review.

We will be hosting a
booth at the Oviedo Farmer's Market the first
Saturday in November, so decide what you would
like to display.
Space is a bit more
restricted this year, so we are asking that
members submit no more than three photographs
and we will not be able to accommodate boxed
prints. All photographs should be mounted
or framed and ready to hang.
As in prior
years, the photographs may be offered for sale
or simply displayed to "show off" your work.
Any photograph offered for sale must be
marked with a price and the member must be
present.
The Oviedo Farmer's
Market is held the first Saturday of each month
at the Lawton House. Setup begins at
7:30am. |

The deadline
for submissions is Wednesday, November 22,
2017.
Your
photographs should be of firefighters, police
officers, veterans, active duty military, or
anyone acting as a local
hero.
Photos must have
been taken after November 21, 2015. Each
photographer can submit up to 5 photos. If you
would like to enter photos please email the club
for access to a dropbox
folder.

Call for Photos for
New Website |
A
new website is under development by the City of
Oviedo and they have asked the club to take photos
in Oviedo to feature in a slideshow on the home
page. Possible
subjects include city government buildings, city
parks, and other historic buildings and
structures. Photos
can be color or monochrome but they should not
have any HDR or photoshop "effects"
applied. Minor
exposure adjustments and minimal cropping will be
allowed. Only
current members of the Oviedo Photo Club may
submit images for consideration. More
detailed submission guidelines are available to
members. Published photos will be credited
to the Oviedo Photo
Club.

addition to selling photography equipment and
hobby supplies, they also
hold in-store photo classes,
including Basic Digital SLR Class and How To Use
Your Point & Shoot Camera. Classes are
being held Fridays and Saturdays. Call

Show your club spirit by adding our
club logo to your shirts, hats or bags.
You can order shirts and other items
in several
styles and colors from Atticus Printing or bring
in something you already have and they can
embroider the club logo on it for a small
fee.
